Can I give a poinsettia to a Jewish friend?

Absolutely! Poinsettias are secular. Because of the vibrant color, they are wonderful winter gifts and are not linked to Christmas, but the season.

Remember, Hanukkah is not as holey of a holiday as other Jewish holidays (it became more important mostly so that Christians can relate).

Can I give a poinsettia to a Jewish friend?
It's okay as long as it's not in a vase in the shape of a pig.
Reply:Why not just decide you want to give a poinsettia to a friend, and not worry about the Jewish part? If this person is a friend, he or she will appreciate your thoughtfulness.
Reply:poinsettias are poisen to cats? yikes Ill take mine down :( thank ye

Why not?
Reply:Sure, they are friends.
Reply:LOL I think we are going overboard with the politically correct thing. It's only a plant and plants don't believe in any religion.
Reply:it's typically thought of as a christmas plant, but if they like them, then why not? if you don't know if they like them, i wouldn't. or if they own cats (poisonous).
Reply:Why don't you just ask them first? If they say that they won't mind it, then cool. If they say that they would rather not accept it because it reminds one of Christmas, then give it to someone else. They would appreciate if you ask first.
Reply:for sure they wont be insulted
